Dominic Walters, IoIC Chairman, has opened the 2011 IoIC Conference in Bournemouth. With the theme “The rise of the fearless communicator?” the conference aims to look at the difficult issues facing the internal communicator in the face of extreme financial cutbacks.

Dominic said the first thing to do was define fearless. He said one delegate had suggested it meant telling the MD he was getting it wrong, and then telling him how to put things right.

He added: “In reality, it is facing the issues head on and doing something about them.”
