Networking in the North
You are invited to the next
Institute of
Internal Communication (IoIC) networking event in
York on Thursday 8 July.
Organised by the North and
West Yorkshire regions of the IoIC, this networking meeting will take place at the HSBC offices in
Parliament Street,
York from
5.00pm - 7.00pm. Everyone’s welcome so feel free to bring colleagues or clients.
The highlight of the meeting will be a presentation from Change Management Expert,
Barbara Paterson, an associate of Cicada Communications.
Barbara will present a case study on how the internal communication and HR functions combined to deliver an impressive staff engagement campaign for a professional services client.
By combining ‘Type Dynamic Indicator’ assessments with the principles of best practice in engagement, Cicada delivered a series of tailored workshops and coaching for management. Barbara will explain how this approach delivered a robust solution to a complex client problem.
To sum up, the presentation will include:
- A practical case study that demonstrates getting employees involved in marketing their organisation by bringing together ‘people’, ‘change’ and ‘communications’ experts.
- an explanation of how the psychological aspects of change and putting communications into context for the individual creates motivation even in the most difficult change circumstances
- tips and techniques to encourage changed leadership behaviour and managers’ emotional intelligence which are crucial for effective internal communications. This means that communications professionals are or have to become Trusted Advisers and coaches in their organisations, often at board level as well as with line managers.
After Barbara’s presentation there will be time for questions, discussion and networking and we will provide some light refreshments – tea, coffee and biscuits.
We then plan to go for a drink nearby in Kennedy’s bar in Little Stonegate and maybe also for a meal depending on interest and appetites.
I do hope you will be able to come. If you would like to attend please contact me on louise@louisewrites.co.uk or 07941 612397 or 01422 352094
Cheers
Louise
Location: HSBC,
Parliament Street,
York,
YO1 8SG.
The bank is in the centre of
York which is pedestrianised, so people will have to use car parks on the outskirts and walk in.
There are car parks situated at The Haymarket which are very close by. Bring coins for the pay and display, some of which only charge until
6pm.
When you enter the bank, take the lift to the top floor. When the doors open the networking room is to the right. If you get stuck, ask anyone in the bank for help. It’s open plan and staff will be walking around.
Kennedy’s bar is close by I at 1 Little Stonegate. YO1 8AX
