People who enrol for the Foundation Diploma of Proficiency in Internal Communication will be allocated to a specific cohort and given joining instructions for their initial immersion day once their payment has been received. Cohorts are groups of (usually) 6-10 people allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Each cohort will have its own immersion day. Immersion days will take place at, roughly, quarterly intervals. For 2012, the first immersion day is on Friday March 2 (NOW BOOKING). Each cohort will receive a full briefing from a member of the accreditation programme team and will then discuss their existing skill and knowledge levels and see which areas they might need to concentrate on before taking the final examination. Potential courses (IoIC and other providers) may be recommended to cohort members to help them reach the required standard but taking these is NOT a necessary requirement of the diploma. Lunch and other refreshments will be provided. • Anyone failing to attend the immersion day will be unable to progress to the rest of the diploma and payment refunds will not be given. In exceptional cases adjudged legitimate by IoIC, and where advance notice has been given, students may instead be offered an opportunity to move to a later cohort. Such cases are rare. |
