The rise and rise of internal communicationCiB is celebrating its 60th anniversary with the launch of a new book - "The Rise and Rise of Internal Communication". Written by Steve and David Knight, the book tells the story of how internal communications emerged as a discipline in its own right, of its embryonic roots in 1949, right through to the electronically-driven communications of the early 21st century and beyond.

The book also highlights the impact of increased remote and flexible working in the 21st century with 73% of people saying flexible working was common in their organisation and 37% of managers handling teams that were entirely or predominently based in another organisation.

CiB chairman Dominic Walters comments: "As we have evolved from the British Association of Industrial Editors to CiB, this story clearly reflects the change of emphasis from 'writer' and 'editor' to 'communicator'."

The book was launched at the CiB's annual conference in Birmingham, but you can also get hold of your own copy for just £13.31 including P&P. Just go to CiB's online payments system to order your copy.
