WABCO Vehicle Control Systems, one of the world’s leading suppliers of safety and control systems for the commercial vehicle industry, is looking to recruit an experienced professional to drive its online strategy and to manage and implement internal and external online communications.
The Web Strategy and Content Manager will report to the Vice President Communications.

 



Main Responsibilities
  • Development and implementation of WABCO’s online communication strategy in support of the company’s communications agenda and company-wide business objectives.
  • Protect and enhance the company’s reputation and brand through effective and high quality online communications.
  • Development of online content in collaboration with corporate communications colleagues across the globe, WABCO’s marketing and investor relations teams plus other business units as necessary.
  • Drive the development of WABCO’s intranet as a source of information and as a point of purposeful collaboration that reinforces the cohesiveness of WABCO’s global community.
  • Development of and management of compliance with company-wide policies governing online activity and publication.
  • Creating and implementing robust processes that support online engagement, based on the needs of a wide range of stakeholders. This will include liaising with WABCO business units and regions to ensure that any sub-sites conform to the company’s online strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Identifying and defining new trends in internet and related technologies, evaluating their appropriateness for WABCO, and providing expert counsel/support to the company’s corporate communications teams regarding their use.
  • Providing support to communications colleagues around the globe who share responsibility for the creation, staging and live posting of web content.
  • Directing the activities of Interface and guide the activities of WABCO’s India-based business services center, which is responsible for hosting, technical maintenance, design and build support for WABCO’s web environments.
  • Managing external relationships and budget spend with vendors that provide design, content management, news distribution and shareholder information.
  • Managing WABCO’s search engine optimization (SEO) strategy and analyzing data to improve SEO performance and to inform WABCO’s decisions about future online investment.
  • Supporting online marketing initiatives and providing meaningful reporting of results and impacts.

Job requirements
  • experienced online practitioner with minimum five years experience working within an international business-to-business environment, preferably for engineering businesses
  • significant experience in writing for the web and an appreciation of web design and build processes are expected
  • ability to navigate a social media strategy
  • strong writing skills (in English plus one other European language) gained within a corporate communications, marketing or journalistic context will be essential
  • strong project management skills
  • strong organizational skills with sensitive management of matrix based business relationships at a regional and global level,
  • resolute focus on results.
  • effective team player with the skills to influence, coach and support management colleagues and to foster their understanding of the intranet as a communications medium and business tool.
  • ability to recognize and foster a link between WABCO’s online communications objectives and its regional and global business objectives will be of vital importance, as will an informed understanding of online marketing processes.
  • ability to share specialist knowledge with non-technical colleagues
  • knowledge of HTML editors and CMS systems,
  • experience with on-line newsletters and campaigns
  • familiarity with a range of online applications including blogging
