An opportunity has arisen to to join the In-House Team of the Year at Post Office for a 12-month contract.

This role is primarily to take the lead as the communications expert in a major people change programme.

The focus will be on putting together and delivering a comprehensive plan to communicate the changes, which engages the whole audience throughout programme and after the changes have taken place. There will also be the opportunity to get involved with other projects, and you will be an integral part of the wider communications team, which works together to continue to develop and improve the way we provide communications support across the business.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead on the creation and implementation of communication strategies for major people change programmes 

• Advise, support and challenge clients on all internal communications issues

• Champion the voice of the audience and communicate appropriately segmented and targeted information to colleagues 

• Ensure colleagues understand the strategic direction of the business and their role in supporting the Post Office business plan

• Enable line managers to create, manage and produce effective communication plans and activities to their teams

• Manage stakeholder relationships and develop appropriate evaluation and feedback 

• Create value by reinforcing importance of communication considerations with key stakeholders

• Ensure all communication activity adheres to our stated brand values and tone of voice.

You will be responsible for managing corporate level content updates for the existing intranet site whilst simultaneously project managing the phased development, content production and launch of a new intranet site based on the SharePoint 2010 platform.

Some of the tasks that you will be required to carry out include:

  • research into intranet best-practice
  • an inventory of existing site content
  • development and testing of a new navigational structure with focus groups
  • CMS training for super-users
  • site-wide testing and proof reading prior to launch, and
  • the delivery of a comms plan to support the launch and subsequent phased developments.

To apply for the role it is essential that you have a proven track record in project managing the launch/re-launch of an intranet site. Exceptional copywriting skills and experience with SharePoint are required.    

You will demonstrate confidence and professionalism when managing stakeholders throughout our geographically dispersed organisation. 

A full UK driving licence is required to meet occasional travel commitments of this role.
