IoIC has put together a collection of features on Engagement and Motivation. These have all been published in "Communicators" magazine over the past few years, but have been brought together in one Zip file to make it easier for you to download and read.

Topics include: employee happiness, engagement research, engagement tips, tips for line and middle management, motivating staff, positivity, story telling and tone of voice.

In total there are 13 features in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. They are only available to IoIC members.

The September 2010 edition of InsideOut, the member publication for IoIC, has now been published and delivered.  You can also find a PDF copy in the member-only section of this web site.

More people are signing up all the time in a bid to gain a professional qualification in internal communication.

Places on the next IoIC foundation level accreditation programme cohort, which launches on October 1, are filling up fast.

“We are still two months ahead of the start date but already five of the ten places have gone,” said IoIC accreditation programme co-director Steve Knight. “If anyone wants to join the programme they will need to contact me fairly quickly because places are strictly limited and we work on a first-come-first-served basis.”

The October cohort is scheduled to be the last foundation level group for 2010. “We are also launching our advanced programme this autumn, so there will be a break at foundation level while we concentrate on the next level up,” explained Knight.

There is still an opportunity to apply for this year’s intake of the Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Communication Management accredited by Kingston University. The course equips internal communication professionals to operate at a senior level, providing a depth of understanding about communication and change, as well as the knowledge and tools to develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies that make a lasting difference.

IoIC North Region has four great events coming up for you to attend.

The pass rate for people taking the Institute of Internal Communication foundation diploma is currently running at a little more than 60 per cent.

The figure was revealed as the diploma, part of the accreditation programme designed to raise standards within the internal communication profession, reached the midway point of its second year of operation.

IoIC members and guests from the North region met up at the offices of the HSBC in York in July. Part of a new drive to increase networking opportunities in the region, delegates enjoyed an interesting presentation from change management expert, Barbara Paterson, an associate of Cicada Communications in Harrogate.
