| Winners of CiB Central awards braved the wintry weather and came from all over the country to see 44 Communications walk away with nine awards plus the Tom Dawson award. It was the first year 44 Communications, headed by Corin Ashby, had entered the awards but it wasn’t the only first-timer to pick up awards – The Bridge Group won two certificates of merit and Pictures 55 also won a certificate of merit.
Judges commented that the standard was higher than ever this year: although that also made them more difficult to please and in a few categories they limited the number of awards they made.
CiB Central director Louise Birkett says: “It’s fantastic to see new talent emerging and the success of these new entrants shows that it is possible to take on the long-established agencies and in-house teams.
“I hope the success of 44 Communications, the Bridge Group and Pictures 55 will provide inspiration to other agencies and in-house teams who may have been put off in the past.”
