A second meeting of the newly-formed IoIC South Region Network, hosted by Mandarin Kite Communications, proved a real success. Twenty-one communications professionals came together to network, share experiences and learn from one another.

IoIc South Region eventThe meeting kicked off with a light-hearted speed networking session and was followed by discussions in small groups on a variety of topics from social networking and internal events to in-house newsletters. Some even brought along examples of their own work to share.

Matt Hampshire, a director at Mandarin Kite, then presented a case study on its recent award-winning project - Transforming B&Q – aimed at boosting B&Q’s profit and share price. This was followed by a brainstorm in groups to come up with solutions to particular challenges experienced by attendees.

To close Nicky Flook, director at Mandarin Kite, shared some of the key highlights from a training workshop entitled ‘Creating the Right Comms Mix for your Audience’, which proved very popular.

Alex Barnes, consultant at Mandarin Kite, organised the event. She said: "The IoIC networking groups are really beneficial. They give local communicators a real opportunity to discuss the topics that matter in a supportive environment. Some great conversations were had and some new internal comms contacts made.”

Ellie Bringes, from Johnson Controls, said: "It was a great event – I’m looking forward to the next one."

And Lucy Snook-Dunn, from Sovereign Housing Group, added: "The format was great, very snappy and punchy."

The network is open to all IoIC members across the South. To find out more, contact the IoIC or join the IoIC South Network group on LinkedIn.
