Russel Oliver BrooklandsThe “myths, fairytales, unconscious assumptions and cultural blind spots” that have traditionally haunted and hampered internal communication will be exploded in a free 60-minute webinar.

Hosted by IoIC director Russell-Oliver Brooklands (right), it will take place on August 24 at 6pm.

“This webinar will give you a whole bunch of ideas with which to start getting more ‘clout’ to do the job the way you really want to,” he says.

Exactly how it will do this depends on where you’ve got to with Russell-Oliver’s freely available template, The Uncommon Sense of IC.

  • If you haven’t yet got around to reading the ebook, you can just sit back and listen (and discover why it's garnering feedback such as: "So enjoyable", "Insightful and thought provoking", "Compulsory reading" and even "Really cathartic")*
  • If you have read it, you can use the interactive session to ask questions about its insights, or about how to capitalise on them
  • If you want to get other people in your organisation to understand this stuff, you can send them the link and encourage them to join in.

Russell-Oliver will be presenting for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes for a Q&A session.

He adds: “The idea is that, together, we can create a new paradigm in which people can make increasingly healthy decisions about how to get internal communication fulfilling its potential – for everyone’s benefit.”

The webinar will cover:

  • Why most people believe they’re good at IC – and why they’re almost always wrong
  • Why it’s no one’s fault – yet – that almost everyone struggles with IC
  • The five communication arenas, which mean IC is unlike any other form of human interaction
  • The five dynamics of IC that make it a unique (and uniquely challenging) discipline
  • IC's staggering untapped commercial potential, and how to start proving it.

If there's anything else specific you'd like covered, by all means let me know: rob@icmodel.biz.  And if you’re interested in attending you’ll need to register with the hosts: HR.com, beforehand.
