This seminar, the second event in a three-part series hosted by the IoIC, will look at ways in which organisations bring their values to life; what factors need to be taken into account and the challenges faced with the task at hand! For one company, Xchangeteam Group, these values are ‘personal, integrity, expert, progressive and fun’. Emma Brierley, the company’s founder and chairman, has been instrumental in making sure the company keeps its values alive – internally and externally. And as a member of the executive board of APSCO, the professional services recruitment trade body, she has also transferred these values to the recruitment industry as a whole. Emma will take us through how these values were shaped into what they are today and how it benefited the company’s clients and staff. She will build on the first event ‘Translating corporate values into everyday messages’ where Isabel Collins from Radley Yeldar gave an overview of their first research programme into the stated values of FTSE100 companies, giving a clear indication of what worked and what didn’t. Why attend this event? Regardless of where in the values cycle you are, internal communication professionals can learn from the experts and share experiences. We can’t promise instant success, but you will come away with practical advice that can be implemented the next day. Where and when? Wednesday November 16, 2011 6pm for 6.15pm at XL House, 70 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0XL. The cost: £15 + VAT for IoIC and IABC members and £30 + VAT for non-members, including a finger buffet and drinks. To book: email brenda@ioic.org.uk
Seminar series Our third event, on Employer Branding, will take place on January 18, 2012. Values are in place, embedded into the culture. So how do you get the most out of it? How is your organisation perceived by your internal and external talent pool? What do employees really value in an employer? Research reveals that nearly 80% of workers would take a pay cut to land their dream job, but what are the characteristics of an ideal employer? Jenny Davenport of People in Business – the worldwide thought leader on brand management – will offer views on employer branding, including a case study that shows the benefits of getting it right.
