While Essex walked away with the awards for Best Internal Communication Strategy and Best Internal Communication People, regionally based consultancies picked up the other awards. Hampshire-based Mandarin Kite won Best On-Line Communication, Pages Creative won Best Communication Skills and Bristol's Synergy Creative (pictured right) picked-up Best Communication Channel. In total 11 Awards of Excellence were also presented at the event held in Bristol at the Lloyds Banking Group offices in the city. “It was a great event and created a real buzz,” said Regional Director Mark Hill. “We mixed several excellent speakers with the awards ceremony so there was something for everyone in the evening. It’s the first event that we’ve held in Bristol for two years and it was good to see so many people there.” Head of Employee Communications and Engagement at ECC, Katie Hadgraft, said: "We're really excited to have won these awards from the IoIC. It's always nice for our hard work to receive the stamp of approval from our peers in the industry." Essex County Council will be receiving their awards at an event early in 2012 because, given the distance between Bristol and Chelmsford, they were unable to pick up their awards at the event. Essex County Council Employee Communications and Engagement Team scooped top prizes in two of the five categories at the IoIC South Regional Awards event.
