Double gold medal-winning Olympian Steve Williams will speak at the Institute of Internal Communication’s annual conference next year.

The rower who took gold as part of the coxless fours teams in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008 now works as an inspirational speaker and runs team development workshops.

“It’s a real coup to get someone of Steve’s calibre,” said Institute chief executive Steve Doswell. “We’re especially delighted to be hosting a double champion in the year of the London Olympics, which will be just a few weeks away.

“Steve’s presentation will fit perfectly with the conference’s theme which is ‘preparing for peak performance’, which draws on the Olympic theme and also ensuring you’re in prime condition to take advantage of the upturn.

“I’m know Steve has an amazing and inspirational story to tell and his insights will be valuable to all communicators.”

Williams (pictured right) – also a world champion four times over - will draw on the training, teamwork and dedication needed to win Olympic gold medals in his presentation.

The IoIC conference will be held at the Marriott, Forest of Arden, near Birmingham, from Wednesday May 23 – Friday May 25.
