Advanced Diploma – The Final Assessment
Qualifications
Thursday, 12 November 2009 19:46

The last stage of work for the Advanced Diploma programme is the final assessment.
This takes place approximately six months after the stimulus event. Members of the cohort will be interviewed individually by an independent industry monitoring panel.

The panel will also have examined the report produced by the cohort as its response to the group challenge, and received feedback from IoIC’s cohort facilitator about individual participation and contributions

To summarise, individual assessments will be based on:

  • The portfolio of evidence

  • Individual participation in the group challenge and contributions to the group’s written report

  • The panel interview

Based on their assessment of these elements, the independent industry monitoring panel will then make a recommendation to IoIC. This will determine the candidate’s success or otherwise.

In the event of a failure, the panel’s reasons will be fully explained to the candidate, who be given one opportunity to appeal the decision. In this case, IoIC’s accreditation programme appeal panel will consider the case.

Unsuccessful candidates will be permitted to try again by applying to re-join the Advanced Diploma Programme a year after receiving their initial result. They will, however, have to pay the full programme fee once again.
