At the stimulus event, each Advanced Diploma cohort will be introduced to the group challenge, which will be explained to them by a senior IC practitioner invited by IoIC for this purpose. This will be based on an issue of genuine relevance to the practice of internal communication. Members of the cohort will then work together over the following weeks to study the underlying issue and prepare a report. The group challenge will be a test of individuals’ ability to analyse a business issue and develop appropriate solutions, and to work collaboratively. IoIC expects that the resulting report from each cohort would be of sufficient quality to justify its inclusion in the IoIC Knowledge Bank. A facilitator assigned by IoIC will provide guidance to the cohort and will monitor and encourage individuals’ participation in the group challenge. The report will need to be sent electronically to the accreditation programme team one month before the final assessment. Each cohort member’s specific contribution to the group challenge and the resulting report will be identified. IoIC’s independent industry monitoring panel will read the report and receive further feedback from the facilitator, and each student’s contribution will count towards the individual’s diploma result. The Advanced Diploma will not be awarded to an individual who fails to complete his or her part of the group challenge. |
