Writing an award entry can feel like a daunting task, especially if you have never written one before. For the first time, and ahead of the Early Bird deadline, we are running a session where you can meet some of our IoIC National Awards Judges and hear from then about what they are looking for when they judge an entry. The session will cover hints and tips, what to definitely include (and not include!) and how to give your entry the best possible chance of winning.

We are delighted to welcome:

  • Gihan Hyde, Founder of CommUnique
  • Kate Jones, Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs at Tarmac
  • Tim Rutter, Head of Internal Communications at Tata Steel UK
  • In a conversation facilitated by Justine Stevenson, IoIC Awards Chairman, IoIC Board Member and Head of Internal Communication and Employee Engagement at AQA

The IoIC National Awards 2022 will open for entries in early February.

Gihan Hyde is the award winning communication specialist and the founder of CommUnique, an ESG Communication start-up. She has been implementing ESG campaigns in 8 sectors, across 6 countries over the past 15 years. Her campaigns have positively impacted over 150,000 employees, 200,000 customers, and have closed over £300m in investment deals. Some of the clients she advised included The World Health Organisation (WHO), HSBC, Barclays, M&S, SUEZ, Grundfos, Philip Morris, USAID, and the Saudi Government.

Kate Jones is an award-winning internal communications specialist with 25 years’ experience, both agency and in-house, across a range of industries. She is an IoIC Fellow and was named IoIC Internal Communicator of the Year 2016. She is Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs at Tarmac. Twitter: @how_IC_it.

Tim Rutter, Head of Internal Communications, Tata Steel UK, has worked in a variety of Marketing, PR and Communication roles in the European manufacturing industry for 32 years. He has received numerous awards including the inaugural IoIC #WeMatterAtWork award in 2019. Last year he became a Chartered PR Practitioner. Tim is based at the iconic Port Talbot steelworks and manages a team of six working across employee communications and engagement, as well as Community Liaison and Public Relations. Following the successful use of in-house videos, Tim recently launched an employee podcast, and is using social media for internal communications.

This event will take place on Zoom, joining instructions will be sent the day before the event.
