Key Responsibilities:
  • Translating complex and technical information into understandable segments for the audience with clear call to actions.
  • Support individual messages, campaigns and the wider communication agenda, by influencing and where necessary governing, a consistent style and tone for different audiences receive their information.
  • Create content for varying communications (operational and corporate) which will be cascaded through   differing channels (emails, intranets, webinars, visuals, video scripts etc)
  • Support the editing and proofing of other people's writing to meet key deliverables
  • Build and maintain relationships with communication stakeholders to develop, enhance and advise on ongoing communication opportunities, styles and tones to meet desired outcomes of the communications
  • Identifying key messages and call to actions while clearly articulating the know, feel and do requirements of the information
  Required Skill and Behaviours:
  • Skilled in writing clear, concise and grammatically correct content and copy
  • A strong news sense, the ability to appreciate differing points of view and take on board feedback
  • Ability to adapt a writing style to fit with the audience needs and to other people's direction
  • Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to proof-read your own and others' work
  • Experience of interpreting communication preferences and translating them into changes on how and when channels are used alongside adapting style or tone
  • Ability to work under pressure and to short timescales
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and a continually changing environment
  • Team player with a collaborative approach
  • Strong active listening and influencing skills
  • High personal and professional integrity; has the confidence to interact with, challenge and influence senior managers
  • Thrives on working in a fast-paced environment, with a resourceful can-do attitude
 Required Technical Knowledge:
  • Qualification in a supporting subject such as English, journalism or marketing
  • Strong understanding of grammar and how to write creative and engaging copy 
  • Experience of a corporate environment with knowledge of Financial Services preferred not essential
  • Experience in Internal Communications preferred but not essential
  • Detailed understanding of internal audiences and their segmentation
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into content suitable for any audience
