We are looking to recruit an Internal Communication Officer in a creative role based at our Leeds City Centre office. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions. To support the achievement of the internal communication strategy through the delivery of communications that engage our wide-ranging internal audience, and help them to feel involved, valued and motivated.

What you will be doing
This is a crucial role in determining the success of our growth plans. Within this role you would work with the charity’s Internal Communication Team reporting to our Internal Communication Manager.

Key accountabilities
  • To help develop two-way internal communication across the charity, and encourage colleagues to see internal communication as everyone’s business
  • To measure and evaluate the success of internal communications through a range of both quantitative and qualitive methods
  • Work with ICM to evaluate current channels and research and develop new, innovative channels to meet the different needs of colleagues across the charity
  • Source news, stories and images for all internal channels including printed magazine and online newsletter
  • Write, and where necessary, edit content for all channels as well as the production, design and distribution of any charity-wide communications
  • Work with the ICM to deliver charity-wide internal communication projects and campaigns, and managing projects end-to-end independently as required
 
Experience and knowledge
  • current proven experience of working in an internal communication role (essential)
  • IT literacy in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ideally Adobe InDesign and Word Press (although training can be made possible for the Adobe system)
  • an understanding of how internal communication contributes to an organisation’s development, including change communications
  • producing, writing and designing communications for an internal audience such as news emails, blog content and printed magazines
  • understanding how to meet the needs of a diverse, multi-level audience
  • experience of managing employee social network, intranet and other digital channels
 
Skills and abilities
  • excellent copy-writing and editing skills, along with a keen eye for detail
  • excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence at different levels across the organisation
  • able to work autonomously or as part of team
  • a proactive and flexible approach to work
  • highly collaborative, with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions
  • a professional qualification in internal communication (desirable)
