We know that internal communicators are passionate about their profession and we want to use that passion to encourage others to consider a career in IC. There are a number of ways in which you can get involved with the #IChoseIC campaign:
Become an #IChoseIC Ambassador
In order to reach as many students, young people and other professionals as possible; spread the message of internal communication as a career of choice; and provide our members with the opportunity to be involved with the campaign, we’re inviting members who are passionate about the internal comms profession to become #IChoseIC Ambassadors.
#IChoseIC Ambassadors should:
- Currently be working in internal comms or have internal comms experience
- Be passionate about the internal comms profession and interested in promoting the profession to people who are making decisions about their future career
- Be an IoIC member
- Be open to speaking at events and supporting initiatives such as mentoring programmes
- Proactively spread the #IChoseIC message and support the Institute to make connections and develop relationships which will enable us to reach a wider pool of people
We'd also love for #IChoseIC Ambassadors to have the following knowledge and experience, but these aren't essential requirements:
- Experience of communicating or working with groups of young people
- Knowledge/awareness of Widening Participation initiatives
Being an Ambassador should be an engaging, rewarding and interesting experience and an opportunity to encourage and support the next generation of internal comms professionals. Ambassadors will be called upon to support various events and invitiatives and to advise the IoIC on the future of the campaign. Write an #IChoseIC blog
Every internal communicator has a story to tell about their journey into the IC profession, and we want to share them. You can find all of our existing #IChoseIC blogs here. If you're interested in writing your own, email [email protected]
