FutureNet: The IoIC IC Strategy Guide

Producing your first internal communication strategy is no mean feat – it can be an extremely steep learning curve and a somewhat daunting prospect. To support IC professionals through the process, the IoIC has produced a comprehensive IC Strategy Guide, designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and insights required to think and act strategically.

FutureNet members will be the first to hear from the team who have produced the guide and have the opportunity to have their questions about IC strategy answered.

The session will be run on Zoom, with the link provided the day before the session.

Webinar: The IoIC IC Strategy Guide

As the UK’s only professional body which is solely dedicated to internal communication, the IoIC exists to help people and organisations succeed through promoting internal communication of the highest standard. Our members consistently tell us that internal communication strategy is not only one of the most important aspects of their role, but is also one of the aspects with which they most struggle, which is why we have produced a comprehensive IC Strategy Guide in collaboration with our Masters in Internal Communication Management alumni.

Join us on 18 May to hear from Oli Howard and Terrence McDonald as they talk you through the guide, explain how and why you should use it, and answer your questions about internal communication strategy.

Details of how to join the webinar will be sent on the day of the webinar. The email will come from streamstudio so please check your junk folders just in case.

IoIC AGM 2021

This will be an opportunity to hear how the Institute responded to the pandemic in 2020 with an update from our Chief Executive Jennifer Sproul and President Suzanne Peck who will also be sharing more details about our plans for the 2021 and beyond. We will also ensure there is time for members to ask questions and provide their input into our future plans.

FutureNet Hangout: Return of the workplace?

Join us for our next FutureNet Hangout - an opportunity to chat with fellow comms pros and FutureNet members, ask questions and discuss problems, and perhaps even help others by sharing your experience. 

This time, our theme is the return (or not) of the workplace as our companies start to prepare for easing restrictions and potentially returning employees to their offices and sites. Whether your plan is well on its way, or you don’t even know where to start, join us to swap ideas, get help with challenges, and find out how other organisations are tackling this important issue.

IoIC Virtual Huddle - Channel usage and effectiveness in internal comms

Join us, Caroline Calder, Senior Internal Communications Manager at the Food Standards Agency and other members, for our next IoIC Virtual Huddle, where we will be focusing on the topic of channel usage and effectiveness in internal comms. The huddle will focus on what channels work really well for your organisation, what doesn’t work so well and how your organisation measures/benchmarks those channels.

Masters Online Open Evening

Applications are now open for the November 2021 Masters intake. If you are interested in the programme please join us for our virtual Open Evening where you will have the opportunity to hear from MA alumni about the ways in which the course has improved their internal communication practice.

Virtual Sector Conference – Construction/Manufacturing/Utilities

The IoIC’s Virtual Sector Conferences are for Internal Communication professionals to learn from each other about the challenges within their sector. The programme will include forward thinking, inspiring speakers as well as the chance to network and have receive sector-specific advice/expertise.

In this virtual conference we will focus on internal communication across the Manufacturing/Construction/Utilities sector. This is any company with a factory, or that builds something or provides the amenities we all need. This session will be chaired by Kate Jones, Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs at Tarmac.

IoIC Festival 2021 - Early Bird bookings

We are so excited to open bookings for the first ever IoIC Festival. For the first time in over 18 months, we will be bringing internal communication professionals together for a event to: Connect, Inspire and Learn.

There will be leading-edge thinkers, insightful and practical sessions - and you will get to choose the content you want to see and hear. There will also be lots of opportunities to get away from the screen to talk and problem-solve with each other, as well as having some fun along the way too. We’ve designed the festival with social distancing in mind and you can be assured we will follow all government guidance in place.
