Webinar: #IChoseIC

Start Time: 4:00 pm
Location:  Online

The Institute of Internal Communication is on a mission to establish internal communication - the art of keeping people across an organisation informed, connected, and purposeful - as a career of choice. Whether you've just started out in your degree, recently graduated and not sure what to do next, or left school and are taking a break to consider your options, why not join us on 30th September to learn about the internal communication profession, find out about the skills and knowledge needed to succeed (which you might already have), and hear from a panel of IC professionals as they tell you why #IChoseIC.

Attendees will be in with the chance of being picked at random to win a free place on the IoIC's Introduction to Internal Communication virtual training course.

Central and North Awards Dinner 2020 - Postponed

Start Time: 7:00 pm
Location:  Custard Factory

We have now made the difficult decision to cancel the face to face event.

We know you have been waiting a long time to hear if you’ve won, and we still very much want to announce the winners of the awards and celebrate with you all so we are looking into a way that we can do this virtually. We are hopeful this will be in November and will confirm the date and time shortly.

Book your seat for Central and North Awards 2020 at the IoIC Custard Factory Club Night. It promises to be a class event - a massive night celebrating the very best of internal communications from two of our regions.

You'll be in the company of the very best internal communication Komms Klub members, at what promises to be the largest and best networking night out (and party) of the year!

IoIC Newcastle and North East Virtual Hub: Technology Enabled Communications

Start Time: 2:00 pm
Location:  Online

The technologies we choose can make or break internal communications, especially in these unusual times. Finding the elixir of setups that keeps your staff feeling informed, connected and purposeful is no mean feat – especially when the pressure is on to keep your organization moving through a pandemic. With so many tools and emerging practices to help us orchestrate technology enabled communications, there’s too much choice and precious little time to get it right given the current circumstances. The sudden change in business direction, people’s behaviour, and the world around us has put internal communication to the test. Whether you are being resourceful with existing tools or implementing new technologies the imperative is to foster effective communication to contribute to business survival. Knowing what technology to implement, when to use it, and how to get staff engaged are fundamental decisions for any internal communications team.

Join Janine Weightman, an independent Knowledge Management Consultant and founder of Knovolution Ltd, on our next IoIC Newcastle and North East Hub meet up, where she will shed some light on this quandary from a different business perspective. Janine will introduce the concept of Knowledge Management (KM), explore the coexistence of internal comms and KM in organisations, and expand our understanding of the criteria we may wish to consider when choosing and using technology for internal communications.

The session will be run on Zoom, with the link provided the day before the session.
