Investing in your skills so you can adapt to change has never been more important for professional communicators.

Internal comms teams are now responsible for driving and facilitating the message, so professionals need to be more skilled, learned – and agile.

That’s why the theme of ‘Agile IC will run throughout this year’s IoIC Live event in Brighton on Thursday April 30 and Friday May 1.

“We need to fully understand how to get the best out of collaboration, how mobile adds value, how to coach line managers and colleagues to be better communicators and the impact the digital workplace has on our role,” says IoIC president Suzanne Peck.

That’s why the conference will focus on strategies, tools and tips to help communicators step up to the challenge.

Speakers will include Dean Van Leeuwen, co-founder of TomorrowTodayGlobal. A specialist leadership, strategy and future trends consultant, he will speak on Friday about communicating with people from different generations, a ‘mind the gap’ approach, future trends, and how this all ties in with the digital workplace .

The event will open on Thursday evening with a session by the Digital Workplace Group. Research director Elizabeth Marsh will talk about how internal communicators can embrace and drive initiatives through at different levels, understand employee needs, create the right environment and build a community.

Elizabeth is the author of The Digital Renaissance of Work: Delivering Digital Worplaces Fit for the Future, which is currently a Gower Top 20 book.

IoIC Live will kick off with an evening session on April 30 followed a full day of debate and discussion on May 1 – there will be practical case studies, thought leadership and networking.
