The digital workplace, the generation gap among employees, collaboration through social media, creating an agile intranet, and becoming a trusted advisor to your organisation's leaders…

It’s a complicated world for today’s communicators, so investing in your own skills has never been more important.

This year’s IoIC Live event in Brighton – on the evening of Thursday April 30 and all day on Friday May 1 – offers a great opportunity to do just that.

The full programme has now been announced and all the subjects mentioned above will be covered, along with many more – plus a chance to network and debate with fellow communicators.

“As internal communicators take on more responsibility for driving and facilitating communication, the need for skilled, experienced and agile IC professionals grows,” says IoIC president Suzanne Peck.

“We need to fully understand how to get the best out of collaboration, how mobile adds value, how to coach line managers and colleagues to be better communicators and the impact the digital workplace is having on our role.

“So, how prepared are you?”

This year’s IoIC Live will focus on the strategies, tools and tips that will help communicators step up to today’s challenges.

“This year is for investing in your own and your team’s skills and to understand what it takes to be an effective business partner, adding value to your organisations,” adds Suzanne.

The event will kick off on Thursday evening with a workshop – ‘The digital renaissance of work – delivering digital workplaces fit for the future’ – led by Elizabeth Marsh of The Digital Workplace.

Friday’s sessions include:
