Nine internal communicators have been appointed to the IoIC Board, bringing skills and experience from a range of sectors and organisations to help advance the Institute’s work.

The experts were voted on to the board from a shortlist of 18 exceptional candidates. Five of the nine have been reappointed, after their initial three-year tenure expired: Rich Baker, Liz Cochrane, Oli Howard, Justine Stevenson and Andy Williamson.

Four join the board for the first time: Andrew Harvey, Saskia Jones, Addeel Khan and Jane Roques-Shaw. Their diverse knowledge covers the recruitment, consultancy, charity and entertainment sectors.

Jennifer Sproul, chief executive of IoIC, said the high calibre of people who put themselves forward this year is “testament to growing importance of internal communication’s impact on organisations and working lives”.

The IoIC Board is fundamental to guiding the strategic direction of the Institute, as well as representing internal communication to wider business, government, society and the media.

“Most importantly,” adds Jennifer, “the Board represents the voice and needs of our membership to make sure we continue to develop to meet the needs of our growing profession to deliver internal communication to the highest standards.

“I am truly excited and honoured to be working with such fantastic people. I can’t wait to get going to make sure we deliver on our ambitions, grow the voice of IC both within and outside our community and ensure we offer the best membership experience possible. It’s going to be amazing!”

Meet our board members

Our newly appointed and reappointed board members are raring to go.

“This is such an exciting time for internal communication. Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me.”

“I am absolutely delighted to be able to continue my work on the Board and would like to thank all the members who took the time to vote. IoIC's growth over the last three years is a reflection of the need for a professional body uniquely focused on internal communication. I intend to continue making the case for this – and supporting practitioners to achieve ever higher standards.”
