Be part of shaping and supporting your Institute by standing for the IoIC Board

We’re looking for exceptional people to help us support our members today, and for tomorrow. The IoIC is opening up applications from internal communicators with the insight, skills and energy to join our Board of directors.

Help us to create valuable membership experiences, drive professional and ethical standards, develop thought leadership and advocate for IC and its impact on organisations and working lives.

We’ve seen internal communication’s impact, influence and value to organisations grow as a result of the last 12 months. As the UK’s only dedicated professional body for internal communication, the IoIC is uniquely placed to shape the future of our profession by helping organisations and people succeed through promoting internal communication of the highest standards.

We have ambitious plans, we’re growing our membership every day, and are excited to continue this journey.

How getting involved with your Institute benefits you and your profession:

For you:

  • Be recognised as a leader with a strong commitment to our profession
  • Develop new skills and learning
  • Be in the place where we’re shaping and steering the IC agenda
  • Network with peers within your profession

For the profession:

  • Advocate for the value of internal communication to business, economy and society
  • Influence standards and professionalism
  • Bring awareness and enhance the image of the profession to upcoming and aspiring professionals
  • Deliver new thinking and debate to help others deliver their best.

Joining the IoIC board is a three-year commitment that gives you the chance to make a difference. With your fellow board members, you will have responsibility for developing and driving the strategic direction of the IoIC. You’ll tap into the expertise and enthusiasm of your board colleagues and the HQ team, working on one-off projects and longer ongoing strategies.

You will need to attend monthly virtual board meetings and some face-to-face sessions when restrictions are lifted to share and hear activity updates.

Timeline for elections:

  • Nominations due: Thursday 15 April
  • Voting opens: Monday 19 April
  • Voting ends: Wednesday 5 May
  • New board will be announced: Thursday 13 May at our virtual Annual General Meeting

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this exciting opportunity further, please email me at [email protected] or IoIC President Suzanne Peck at [email protected]

We hope that you take this rare opportunity to become more involved in your Institute and help us to continue to support and grow our amazing – and valued - profession.
