IoIC Live '16: Mindfulness takeaway

Delegates were offered a choice of interactive sessions - mindfulness or employee-written content.

Dr Nick Buckley hosted 'Mindfulness - benefits for you and your organisation', while Laura Gosling of GE Healthcare Life Sciences ran 'Content by the people, for the people'.

Nick's session set out to answer questions about mindfulness. What is it? Where did it come from? How and why does it work? But it was also interactive – giving a first-hand experience of a formal mindfulness practice, and some exercises to appreciate how 'noisy' our minds are.

He explained why it as worth keeping up a practice... and how it would translate into benefits for organisations.

The second session, 'Content by the people, for the people, was also interactive session, with Laura explaining how up to 60% of internal communication can be written by the employees themselves in some organisations. She ran through the content process, how it happens, why it happens and how it is benefiting the business.
