A growing professional development programme, a string of successful events and newly-commissioned research all added up to a successful year for IoIC.

However, the successes came at a cost and the Institute reported a year-end deficit of £32,647, mostly due to a decline in sponsorship income.
Steve (pictured right) says this will lead to more focus in the coming year on sponsorship, chasing debts and keeping a lid on costs.
But he adds: “IoIC does not exist to make a profit and we are not commercially-driven, and yet we must generate income, achieve viable surpluses and be commercially capable if we want to achieve other aspirations which are our true purpose.
“I want to see IoIC return to financial surplus quickly, without losing focus on the rest of our programme.”
