As part of National Volunteers Week, we at the IoIC want to say thank you to our volunteers.

"Our members are at the heart of everything we do as we co-create and shape the future of our profession together. There are so many ways to get involved with the IoIC and help be part of the only professional body dedicated to the internal communication profession. explains Jennifer Sproul, IoIC's Chief Executive, "volunteering with an IoIC network is also great opportunity to share, develop new skills and make new friends. It can also be a lot of fun."

The ways to participate are vast and can suit the time and skills you have: from taking the time to submit a blog, to being an #IChoseIC Ambassador, judging the awards, sitting on an advisory panel to even being a Board member. We also have volunteer-led regional groups, as well as FutureNet: The Network for IC Newcomers. We will be launching several special interest groups in 2021 too. Become an IoIC member and join as many of these groups as you would like.

As Suzanne Peck, IoIC President (a volunteer role) explains: "Get involved, volunteer for things you know a lot about – and things you don’t know a lot about - as it’s a great way to learn, to make connections, and to feel that you’re doing something that’s supporting our industry."

Across this week, please look out on our social media platforms and in the weekly Membership Briefing, as we share the stories of some of our volunteers and will show you how you could get involved too. You'll hear from people like Andy Douse, Director at RED, internal communication agency who is part of our North regional committee: "I love connecting with people, and I love the fact that effective employee communication can successfully transform a company from the inside out. So being a volunteer for the IoIC gives me the best of both worlds."

Our volunteers, in whatever capacity, are fundamental in supporting our members and are a vital part of the IoIC – we are so grateful for everything that you do.
