We have ambitious plans for 2021 and beyond in what will be a pivotal year for IoIC and for the internal communication profession. IoIC’s focus on delivering the best for our members remains clear and strong.

To support our future plans we’re delighted to announce that eight new co-opted members will be joining the IoIC Board.

Suzanne Peck, President of the IoIC, said: “Our new co-opted Board Directors bring experience, energy and better diversity to our elected Board at a time when shaping and delivering our strategic projects is more important than ever.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming them to our world, and working closely with them to make the best of their talents, skills and professionalism – benefitting our members and our industry.”

Meet the new IoIC Board Directors:

I’m excited to be able to help the IoIC in further professionalising Internal Communications as we move into a very different business environment. I’m looking forward to bringing over 20 years of experience in five different industry sectors to the Board, as we shape the future of our professional body and bring our influence to the fore in the post-pandemic world

I’m absolutely delighted to join the IoIC board, and look forward to working with the team to support the development of our profession over the next few years. During 2020 we’ve all had the opportunity to demonstrate the real value Internal Comms can add to businesses and their people and, as we look ahead to 2021, we must continue to build on that success to further the strategic role of IC in driving strategic alignment, engagement and business dialogue.

Nicola McLaughlinNicola McLaughlin, Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager, Europe & Africa Region of Toyota Financial Services

I'm excited to become a member of the IoIC Board at a time where our profession is, finally, being given the recognition and respect it deserves. This year, people have woken up to the importance of internal communication and now leaders are asking us how to maintain culture, drive engagement and ensure a positive employee experience. We will be needed more than ever in 2021 and I believe we must seize the opportunity to maximise recent attention and use it to take bolder steps forward. I'm looking forward to being part of an organisation that is fundamental to shaping and driving that shift in gear.

Claudi SchneiderClaudi Schneider, Senior Producer and Client Manager, Sequel Film

With the unprecedented events of this year, now more than ever organisations are seeing how important connecting their people is and the vital role IC plays. I am passionate about internal communications, the changing shape of our industry, and also about the IoIC. I am looking forward to bringing my understanding of how IC sits within organisations and how it shapes their strategy, the bigger picture and shifting priorities to the table. I believe my ability to see issues visually and to convey complex messages are also important for the IoIC’s future.

Leona SmithLeona Smith, Partner & People Engagement & Communication Lead, John Lewis Partnership

I'm delighted to join the IoIC Board. Having worked in Internal communications for 14 years across a number of industries including Housing, Regulation, Finance and Retail, I'm eager to bring to life my experience, passion and knowledge in a way that not only influences our industry, but also broadens our thinking. Over the last few months, I've expanded my experience to include Diversity and Inclusion strategy and as a Black Woman, I'm particularly interested in exploring how we as Internal Communications practitioners ensure that we're truly representing the diversity of our communities and creating inspiring and inclusive ways to engage. This is a great opportunity and I look forward to working with my fellow members.
