Guide: Confident comms in an uncertain world

Bridging the gap to help people perform at their best

In May 2019, we gathered in Bath with over 170 internal communication professionals at the IoIC National Conference to discuss our theme, We Matter At Work.
We looked at the growing impact of internal communication on better business, better society and better economy.

There is no doubt the increased pace of organisational change, the evolving world of work alongside a challenging political and societal landscape is placing increased pressure on the internal communication profession. It is our role to bridge the gap between leaders and employees and engender an environment of mutual understanding, forging connections between people, allowing them to perform at their best – both individually and collectively.
To explore how we can better achieve this during times of change, we were thrilled to be joined by Sarah Meurer of Nestlé who presented a number of scenarios and facilitated a great discussion among our delegates.
This saw us come together as a profession to share our expertise and experience to develop strategies, tools and tactics we can deploy to support organisations and their employees through periods of uncertainty.
In this guide, we’re delighted to share the great thinking and practical ideas that were generated and hope this will help you navigate through challenging times, both now and in the future.
With confident communication we can play a pivotal role for organisations and people in uncertain times.
