Voice Magazine

Voice magazine is the quarterly print title exclusively for IoIC members. Voice is rich in practical, useful content for IC practitioners - in-depth features, key research and opinions from around the industry.  Voice is an essential tool for internal communicators to gain knowledge about their work and talk openly to their peers - sharing experiences and solutions to common issues. If you're not already a member, you can join the IoIC today to start receiving a range of benefits, including Voice magazine.

You can also visit Voice Online, where you can access content from the magazine as well as exclusive online only articles.
Voice Magazine - April 2018
In this issue of Voice, we explore various aspects of digital projects, from the planning and tools to the measurement, to truly understand the impact of technology on behaviours to ensure we get it right. We also have some excellent IC stories about where we’ve gone wrong with technology (page 38-39) – some of which I can most definitely relate to. I hope this issue helps with some of your challenges and provides some useful tips and advice when embracing (or not, as the case may be) new technologies. As always, email your thoughts to [email protected], but also connect with us on social channels: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
Voice Magazine - January 2018
In this issue of Voice, we focus on how we can increase personalisation in our comms to engage with various audiences (we’ve  pic ‘n’ mixed your covers in line with this feature – don’t forget to use #IoICAllsorts to share yours on social media). And as the business environment changes and becomes increasingly global, we explore how we can better understand those cross-cultural differences in our working practices.   We see the return of IoIC experiments, as one team looks at how their personality types impact their ways of working with each other. And Sally Otter from Oxfam shares some wonderful insights into internal comms within the charity sector.
Voice Magazine - September 2017
We have chosen to theme this issue of Voice on perhaps the most prominent topic of the moment – leadership, management and trust. Research shows that poor communication skills among line managers and leaders is one of the main barriers to successful internal communication, but also one of the most important touch points for creating trust. Managing the former to leverage the latter is a constant struggle for the IC practitioner. Articles inclde: Trust Me, I'm a Leader, How to Communicate the Bad News, Are you Customer Experienced, All in Good Measure and an Interview with Hywel Ball, Assurance Managing Partner for the UK & Ireland, EY.
Voice Magazine - July 2017
In this issue, we look at what we can learn from HR and how we can work together to achieve strategic goals, implementing an effective ESN strategy, as well as delivering successful internal comms on a shoestring budget and how do you make part-time or flexible working a success and why it is good for business. We have also have the news from cyber attacks to microchipping your workforce, alongside our regular persective column on bringing your corporate values to life and we interview Krishan Lathigra from the Foreign & Commonwealth.
Voice Magazine April 2017
In this issue, we look at the role internal communication plays in supporting mental health in the workplace and advice on recruiting ex-offenders into an organisation. This issue also features the latest results from the State of the Sector research by Gatehouse, which highlight how technology is changing workplace communication and suggest we need to up our game when it comes to strategic thinking. Finally, we welcome back regular features, including a for/against on whether contract working helps or hinders our internal communication function.
