This virtual training course lead by Jo Hall will expand on the knowledge, tips and best practice shared in her Making internal communication measurement easy webinar It will equip internal communicators with the confidence to know what to measure and how to measure it, how to make good data-driven decisions and recommendations, as well as discover ways in which they can use relevant data to demonstrate the positive impact and value that internal communication adds to their organisation. Reaching beyond the basics, this course on effective measurement and evaluation will be interactive and practical to truly boost your measurement capability and credibility.

Working together over two morning sessions, you will experience a dynamic mix of teaching, group discussions, masterminding, small group and personal activity work using the power of virtual technology. To get the most out of the sessions, some pre-work and homework after morning one will be required.

Part One (2nd Feb, 14:00 - 17:30 (GMT))

  • Effective measurement of internal communication and why it is important
  • Measurement challenges and how to overcome them
  • Applying a simple yet highly effective and scalable measurement framework to your every-day communication planning and delivery approach
  • The pros and perils of benchmarking
  • Choosing what and how to gather effective measures without the overwhelm

Part Two (3rd Feb, 14:00 - 17:30 (GMT))

  • Insights to analysing and reporting data with confidence and with minimal bias
  • The psychology of decision-making and how to make good data-driven decisions
  • How to tailor data reports by understanding leaders and business needs in order to influence effectively and build credibility
  • Practical application of effective measurement techniques in the workplace

This course is aligned to the conducting research, measuring and demonstrating value area of the IoIC profession map and specifically covers the knowledge and skills described at levels one and two with elements from three and four. The course is most suitable for any internal communication professional who is looking to increase their confidence and effectiveness in measuring communications and channels in order to enhance the value they add to their organisation as well as their credibility and influence.


About the trainer

Joanna Hall has a wealth of experience in internal communication, leadership, business partnering and organisational culture. Jo is an advocate of making working environments feel inclusive, collaborative and supportive and she brings this approach to all of her workshops, ensuring delegates learn through a positive, involving experience. Jo holds an MA in Internal Communication Management, is an experienced coach and an IoIC Fellow, Awards Judge and Mentor.
