Programme fees
Programme fees cover all workshop sessions and tutor time. The cost of housing, meals and all other personal expenses are the student’s responsibility.
Please note that foreign visits may require separate visas. It is the individual student’s responsibility to ascertain whether a visa is necessary and to make sure the correct visa is obtained well in advance of study trips.
Payment
You can pay online by credit/debit card via the online payment form or request an invoice. Should you request an invoice, this will be sent to you shortly after you return the diploma registration form. Sterling cheques should be made payable to ‘IoIC’.
If your organisation operates a purchase order system, the purchase order number must be provided at the time of registering.
Whichever method is used, payment must be made in full prior to commencement of the programme induction day. IoIC reserves the right to refuse a student’s entry at any event/assessment/examination or withhold a student’s certificate where payment has not been received.
VAT
VAT will be applied at the rate in force in the UK at the time of booking. In the case of international delegates, VAT is still applicable on UK based programmes.
Qualification numbers
There are maximum - as well as minimum - numbers on each qualification. If a qualification cohort is under-subscribed, it may be cancelled or postponed. In that case, we shall notify you at least 5 working days before the induction date and arrange for you to attend on another date.
Additional dates will be arranged if the cohorts are oversubscribed. We cannot accept responsibility for any losses arising from cancellations or changes, beyond the programme fees. Therefore, if you are planning to book a hotel or travel, please ensure that your booking allows for the possibility of cancellation. The IoIC cannot take responsibility for any monies lost due to the cancellation of a programme.
Refunds and credit
Cancellation by You during Cooling-off Period
You have the right to cancel enrolment in writing within 14 days of registering for the respective programme. In such event, the Institute will refund any fees paid (except where the programme commences within seven days following the date of acceptance, in which case you will be deemed to have enrolled and your refund, if any, will be governed by the terms set forth under “Withdrawal by You other than during the Cooling-off Period”). Cancellation may be made in writing and sent to [email protected].
Cancellation of Programme by the Institute
If the Institute cancels your programme, it will notify you in writing as far in advance as possible and refund any programme fees that you have paid. Other than refunding your fees, the Institute accepts no liability for expenses or losses which you or any third party may incur because of a programme’s cancellation.
Withdrawal by You other than during the Cooling Off Period
The Institute does not normally refund programme fees after the cooling-off period set out above. If you withdraw after this time, you may apply for a partial discretionary programme fee refund on exceptional grounds, calculated on the basis of the refund schedule set forth below. To apply, you must write to [email protected], providing an explanation for your withdrawal and reasons why yours should be considered an exceptional case. You should include supporting documentation, if any. The Institute will consider the appeal and its decision will be final. If you defer your enrolment to the next cohort after four weeks following the programme induction day, the Institute will transfer your programme fees in full, and charge an additional £250 + VAT deferral fee.
Discretionary refund schedule
Programme dropped: % of paid programme fees refunded:
Within the period six weeks before induction
to the end of the first week of module 1 90%
Within second week of module 1 80%
Within third week of module 1 70%
Within fourth week of module 1 60%
After fourth week of module 1 No refund
Refunds are payable to the originator and the originator’s bank account using the same method of initial payment.
If an invoice was requested, the invoice will be updated to reflect the monies still payable to the Institute.
Involuntary Withdrawal
If you are asked to leave the programme as a result of failing academic work or disciplinary issues, as outlined in the student handbook, the Institute will not refund any fees to you.
Deferral fees
Where students defer their studies more than four weeks following the programme induction day, a £350 + VAT deferral fee will be charged which covers extended access to Solent resources and other costs incurred for extending the student’s registration at the Institute, and with Solent University.
Reasonable Adjustments
Reasonable adjustments refer to adjustments made to allow access to assessment for students who would otherwise be disadvantaged by temporary or permanent disability. A wide range of adjustments can be made, depending on the individual students’s specific needs.
All requests for reasonable adjustments, including those who require minor adjustments to the assessment environment should be made in writing to [email protected], and should include details of:
- The nature of the disability
- The type of adjustment requested
- If appropriate, a copy of any medical report or statement which gives guidance on the individual students’ needs
Please note the following:
All IoIC invoices are on a strict 30-day payment policy. Should you wish to set up a payment plan please email [email protected].
