This virtual one-day course is suitable for anyone with responsibility for managing the internal communication and employee engagement around a change programme.

Drawing on methods from cognitive science, communications & change psychology, authentic leadership, emotional intelligence and best communications practices, this course will provide delegates with the expertise and insight on how to connect with stakeholders during times when communications has to focus on virtual channels.

The one-day course is split into two modules (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) and follows a highly interactive, collaborative and engaging approach that includes individual as well as group exercises.

Delegates gain new knowledge around the theories which underpin successful change management communications and have the opportunity to apply their new skills and techniques to a real-life change scenario in a safe environment.

The course will cover:

  • What happens during change and how communication can make a difference. This section includes the classic change curve and what people go through during change as as well as the steps communicators can take to guide them through each phase
  • Understanding the neuroscience of change - how to use language to make messages stick and why stories are critical in times of change
  • Using the SCARF model to help employees remain engaged and motivated during change
  • Supporting leaders and managers - why line managers are key to successful engagement and how we as communicators can support them to step up to the challenge

Please note that we use Zoom and Canvas: The Learning Management Platform for our online courses. Please ensure that you are able to access these systems where you are based before booking your place.
