Making inclusion a core comms theme

Case Study

One of the UK’s largest Integrated Care Systems set out to ensure that messages about equality–particularly race and disability–went beyond tokenism. Working with Diversity Scotland, the organisation’s Comms and Engagement teams reshaped how staff surveys, focus groups, inclusion learning and leadership commitments were communicated across the system. Campaigns explained why changes were happening, linking them to patient care and staff wellbeing rather than HR compliance. Through facilitated engagement between boards and employees from marginalised and minoritised backgrounds, real-life stories came to life. The result: improved trust, inclusion scores, and more open dialogue.

This session, led by Diversity Scotland, will show how internal comms can transform EDI from a “tick box” exercise into part of an organisation’s DNA.
