IOIC South: Are we failing the frontline?

IOIC South: Are we failing the frontline?

IOIC Network events bring practitioners together to connect, learn and share perspectives with peers.

This interactive, in-person afternoon session explores one of the standout themes from the IC Index 2026: frontline communication, a group that’s typically closest to our customers, products and services, yet often the hardest to reach.

With as little as 10 minutes a day to engage with internal communication, competing operational priorities and managers playing a critical role in the communication experience, how do we make every interaction count?

At the session, you will hear:

  • The latest research and findings on frontline communication from the IC Index 2026
  • Practical ideas you can take straight back into your own organisation
  • Inspiring case studies from Something Big and Gallagher that have shifted mindsets and driven measurable change
  • The session will move between facilitated exploration of the IC Index findings, small group discussion and peer sharing, with plenty of space to contribute your own experiences and take away ideas you can put straight into practice.

Why this matters
Reaching frontline colleagues isn't just a logistical challeng. It's one of the most important things we can get right as internal communicators. When frontline teams feel informed, trusted and heard, the impact goes far beyond the communication function. This session is a chance to explore the evidence, learn from others doing this well and think about what we can do differently.

What you'll gain

  • A deeper understanding of what the IC Index 2026 tells us about the frontline employee experience.
  • Practical approaches to communicating when time and attention are limited.
  • Ideas for better equipping managers and building trust with frontline teams.
  • A real-world example of what best-in-class frontline communication looks like in practice.
  • Connection and shared experience with fellow internal communication professionals.

Who it's for
Open to anyone working in internal communication, at any career stage, who wants to explore frontline communication in a practical, peer-led environment. Based in the South, but open to all regions.

How it works
