Drop in employees rating communication as 'excellent' vs. 2025

Only 54% of employees now rate their organisation's communication as excellent, the sharpest single-year decline the research has recorded.

Drop in trusting leadership teams and CEOs vs. 2025

Half of employees do not trust their CEO or senior leaders. Older employees are less likely to trust.

Agree the reasons behind organisational changes are clearly communicated

Less than half of employees agree the reasons behind changes are clearly communicated to them, down 7 points since 2023.

Most people have ten minutes or less a day to engage with communication. One in five say they have no or hardly any time.

Feel confident about the future of their organisation

Confidence is driven by honest communication and clarity about strategy. One in five actively disagree they feel confident about the future.

Psychological safety is low and uneven. Those not regularly connected to a computer are 13 points less likely to feel safe to speak up.
