4 months |  15 CPD Points |  Online live sessions  |  Next cohort starts: September 2026

Programme Overview

For internal communications leaders, AI can be either a powerful ally or a daunting challenge. The opportunities are huge, but the market is crowded and guidance for adoption and leverage can be confusing and conflicting.

It can also be challenging to know how to lead the communication around AI transformation within your organisation and enable teams to safely approach AI with confidence.

Designed for senior internal communicators, this programme will start with the why - what do you want to achieve? It will provide the right questions and support to help you develop an approach to AI adoption that aligns with your organisation's values and goals, is led by your needs and challenges, and ensures appropriate and ethical use of AI.

By fostering a culture of positive AI adoption rooted in human interaction and values-led communication, internal communication leaders can prepare organisations and their people to thrive in an AI world.

Learning objectives

  • Take informed decisions about when, and when not, to use AI tools in internal communications.
  • Lead the communication for AI transformation within your organisation, ensuring employees understand the value, limitations and ethical considerations, while listening to concerns and insights, leading for change with an open and inclusive dialogue.
  • Foster a culture of safe experimentation, where their teams use AI tools creatively and responsibly, with a strong emphasis on values-led, human-centred communication.
  • Develop AI policies and safeguards to protect your organisation, employees, and stakeholders from inappropriate use of AI technologies.
The Programme

The course has a strong coaching ethos, enabling leaders to strive for transformational AI-enabled change, and to help you to lead teams that are innovative and confident using AI safely. Taking a cohort-based approach, participants also have the opportunity to take learnings from other organisations, who may be facing similar challenges or opportunities. There will be use cases throughout the course.

The programme is based around four modules delivered across four months. Each module will include:

  • Pre-work: Curated, bitesize, up-to-date pre-module stimulation.
  • Module Workshop: 2 hour session including group sharing and reflection, new material and action setting.
  • Post-module: Group discussion, theory into practice and experimentation.

Module 1: Why AI?

Workshop: Wednesday 9th September, 2pm - 4pm (UK time)

Understanding the strategic implications of AI for each organisation and what this means for internal comms; identifying the priority changes you want to achieve; and who will help you achieve your changes.

After an AI-enabled introductory half hour getting to know one another, we will explore how AI is changing the world, society and work, and the implications for each organisation.

Module 2: Experiment Safely

Workshop: Wednesday 30 September, 2pm - 4pm (UK time)

We learn by doing, experimenting safely with the tools, while also giving attendees the tools to run internal training for employees on the safe and responsible use of AI.

This session is designed to get leaders familiar with AI tools. It’s run using our ‘Experiment Safely’ format that has been successful in charities, schools and businesses. It is delivered with a ‘train the trainer’ approach, equipping leaders to deliver the training in their organisation.

Module 3: AI Policy and Ethics

Workshop: Wednesday 21 October, 2pm - 4pm (UK time)

Putting in place an AI policy, supporting participants with developing and communicating their AI policy, deepening understanding of AI ethics.

We explore the ethical grey areas around responsible AI use in organisations, exploring good governance and how to put in place policies for employees around their AI use.

Module 4: Leading the communication for AI transformation within your organisation

Workshop: Wednesday 11 November, 2pm - 4pm (UK time)

We'll explore the opportunities and challenges of leading an organisation through AI transformation and getting a communications strategy in place.

The session will cover understanding and addressing different views about AI; language; communicating AI policy principles; supporting managers and monitoring the use and effectiveness of AI technologies at your organisation.

Why this programme?
  • Coaching led-approach to change: We will bring the right questions and challenge to help you develop an approach to AI adoption that aligns with your values and goals. We will help you to let your uniqueness shine in all you do, including in your use of AI.
  • An approach led by your needs and your challenges: We always start with  the why: ‘what do you want to achieve?’ and believe that deciding not to use AI is just as powerful as deciding to use it.
  • Human-centric in all we do: Putting your people and teams first, and designing your AI use to bring their uniquely human capabilities to the fore.
  • Working in partnership: The power of people to deliver change. The course will help empower you, providing you with knowledge and tools to deliver lasting change and put your organisation at the forefront of the AI revolution.
