AI for Internal Communicators: A Practical Guide
If you’re new to AI or lack confidence using it, this half-day workshop is designed for you.
We’ll show you, step by step, how AI can support your internal communication work - including practical guidance on the art of prompting for more effective outputs and the wider capabilities that you can apply immediately.
Together, we’ll explore how AI can help you deliver a complete, end-to-end internal comms campaign, including:
- Analysing data and spotting key insights
- Drafting and refining content
- Campaign and event planning
- Creating visuals and multimedia assets
You’ll see how AI can support storyboarding, help you generate ideas, turn data into meaningful segmented messages, create engaging content such as infographics and high-impact visuals, and save time on everyday tasks.
We’ll also cover what responsible usage looks like. This includes understanding ethical and data security considerations, the risks of misinformation and bias, and how to avoid over-reliance on AI.
This is an interactive, hands-on session, so you will practise and hear from peers in the IC community. By the end of the session, you will feel confident using AI tools, refining outputs as a human editor, and writing clear prompts that produce better results.
You’ll leave with practical skills and the confidence to start using AI in your role straightaway.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is ideal for internal communicators with little or no experience of AI, or those who lack confidence using it and want to harness its capabilities for internal communication delivery.
It is suitable for internal communicators working around Levels 1 and 2 of the IoIC Profession Map.
The course will cover:
- Prompt engineering: Master the art of prompting for better AI-generated results
- Data to narrative: Use AI to analyse data and turn it into compelling content
- Visual assets: Generate infographics and multimedia assets
- Productivity: Leverage AI as a productivity-boosting personal assistant
