Webinar: Compassionate Comms with Hospice UK

Webinar: Compassionate Comms with Hospice UK

57% of employees have experienced a bereavement in the last five years, but less than half of line managers would feel comfortable talking to a report who was grieving.

This follows a pandemic that has only increased employee expectations when it comes to wellbeing support at work. Earlier this year, Hospice UK found that 77% of 18-34 year olds would consider leaving their job if they didn’t get proper support when bereaved.

Despite this, only 30% of employees say the leadership of their organisation has communicated with them about grief or bereavement in the past year and only 32% of employees are aware that their employer has a bereavement policy.

Whether you’re communicating to employees as a colleague or an organisation, talking about death, dying and bereavement can be hard. It can feel awkward or uncomfortable. You don’t want to get it wrong, and sometimes you simply don’t know what to say.

In this webinar we have joined with Hospice UK to:

  • Offer practical advice on how you can support bereaved colleagues in the workplace, using your internal communications
  • Share examples, experiences and insight from Hospice UK, gained from working with organisations on their Compassionate Employers programme
  • Give you the opportunity to ask questions
