Addea Amoa FIIC
Addea is a seasoned Internal Communication professional with over 20 years of experience helping people at work feel informed, connected, and purposeful. Over the last 12 years, she has focused her attention on change communication and has worked on some significant programmes at organisations such as Transport for London and Shell.
Addea lives in London with her 10-year-old daughter. Outside of work she enjoys all things art and design, listening to music, podcasts and audio books, going to concerts, and most recently, has added competing in insane fitness challenges to her list of hobbies.
David Cooke CIIC
David started his career as a financial services journalist, editor and copywriter before working for seven years as a communication consultant for a large US-based pensions and benefits provider. Since joining the Civil Service in 2009, he has had stints at UK Border Agency, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Home Office, where he has headed up HR communications and led on numerous corporate internal communications campaigns. He has worked closely with several Permanent Secretaries on their internal communication and has a particular interest in the role of internal comms professionals in supporting leaders to engage effectively with their people.
Accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators, David has also been on the editorial board of the Government Communication Service’s IC Space. Outside of work, he is a keen musician and tennis player and speaks French and Spanish.
Dominic Walters FIIC
Dominic has specialised in leadership and direct manager communication and development for over 30 years. He has worked in senior ‘in-house’ roles and as a coach and consultant in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US, supporting leadership teams across a range of sectors.
He has also featured in print, TV and audio promoting effective leadership communication and is the co-host of the Future of Internal Communication podcast. Dominic has worked with line manager groups for a range of clients including recently United Biscuits, H&M, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue and Telia Group.
Dominic is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and past national Chairman, Governance Adviser and Fellow of the Institute of Internal Communication.
Jennifer Sproul
Jennifer is responsible for the leadership of IoIC, the only independent professional body solely dedicated to internal communication. IoIC is the voice of internal communication, setting standards for more than 70 years through qualifications, career development, thought leadership and best practice.
Prior to joining IoIC, Jennifer has worked for over 20 years in professional associations, most recently as Strategic Marketing & Sales Director at the Market Research Society, developing and leading on activities across marketing communications (both internal & external), careers, membership, professional development and publishing.

Jody Lewis CIIC
Jody has been a communications professional for nearly 20 years working in a range of roles across both internal and external communications in the financial services and energy sectors. He is currently the Colleague Communications Director at Centrica, having previously led the Internal Communications team at Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to that, Jody was Head of Communications for Bank of Scotland and also Lloyds Banking Group’s Consumer Finance business with responsibility for internal communications and media relations. Jody believes in the fantastic power of effective, impactful communications to help drive improved engagement and performance across all businesses and organisations. He is honoured and excited to have been elected as an IoIC Board member and looks forward to working with the full IoIC community to continue developing our profession.
Joe Salmon FIIC
Joe is a seasoned communications leader with a proven track record of driving organisational success. With over two decades of communication expertise, spanning agency, consultancy, and in-house roles at companies including Vodafone, BT, Hill + Knowlton Strategies, and Spotify. He excels at providing strategic leadership communication and coaching to enhance visibility, reputation and trust, while crafting employee campaigns delivered through compelling storytelling to help organisations to grow from the inside out.
His expertise spans leadership communication, employee engagement, and navigating organisational change. Joe has a Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Communication Management, and is a passionate advocate for the internal communication profession, his influence extends beyond the day job. He's an elected Board Director and Fellow at the Institute of Internal Communication, a champion for inclusion and belonging through the UK Black Comms Network, a recognised event host, speaker, mentor, and awards judge. And PRovoke Media Innovator 25 honouree.
Melanie Hinds FIIC
Melanie has 27 years of experience leading strategic, professional, organisational communications, with 17 of the most recent years specifically leading on internal communications and employee engagement. Experience in professional services, technology and manufacturing, housing and healthcare. Global and UK, ranging from large complex group-structured organisations with headcounts of over 14,000 employees, to smaller organisations of around 1,000 employees. Key skills involve strategic inclusive planning, crisis management, change communications, EDI and well-being.
Through her work Melanie is responsible for directing and leading the development and execution of global internal communications and employee engagement strategies, and implementing plans and activities that are aligned with business goals, strategic priorities and overall communications strategy.
Alongside this, Melanie’s work is aimed at significantly improving employee culture, advocacy, pride, staff embodiment of values & behaviours, internal trust, the employer brand and reputation.
Nazia Nathu CIIC
Nazia has worked in internal communications for nearly 15 years across Professional and Financial Services and is currently Head of (Audit) Internal Communications at a leading accountancy and business advisory firm.
As a strategic communicator, Nazia has a strong focus on employee engagement, inclusion, and organisational culture. With her background, Nazia brings deep expertise in storytelling, leadership communications, and change, and is committed to advancing the internal communications profession through insight and advocacy.
Paul Diggins FIIC
Paul has worked in Internal Communications for almost 25 years. Having learned his trade at Barclays, he has since worked at a range of businesses in a number of sectors. Most notably, he was the IC lead on the merger between T-Mobile and Orange that led to the creation of EE. Following this, he joined RBS to work on the separation of the insurance division and the subsequent flotation of the Direct Line Group. As well as these businesses, he’s led the IC functions of Rolls-Royce PLC, Elsevier (a division of RELX PLC) and is currently the head of IC at Santander UK PLC.
Shalini Gupta FIIC
With over two decades of international experience, Shalini has extensive experience of advising leadership teams during periods of change and delivering communications that drive successful business outcomes. Shalini's career highlights include roles across India, Middle East and the UK at RSA, GE Capital, Aviva, BT, NatWest group and since Sept 2022 at Arup where she is the Head of Internal Communications for the UKIMEA region. In her current role, Shalini has established a talented team who thrive on connecting people to the organisation’s purpose, bringing the stories of colleagues and clients they support to life. As a passionate Fellow of the IoIC, Shalini is a keen mentor for young talent and champions diversity of voice within our industry.
Sonia Squires FIIC
Sonia is Head of Communication at Citizen Housing. Sonia started her career in higher education where she worked with under-represented groups, supporting young people to achieve their potential. She then found her calling with internal communication, working for the NHS, AQA and most recently in social housing.
Sonia’s passion is supporting leaders with their communication so that they develop a greater connection with their teams. Her MBA dissertation focused on the importance of leadership in employee engagement and the significant impact it has every day.
In her spare time Sonia is dancing in the kitchen with her two young daughters and cheering on Derby County.
