Head of Colleague Experience, Coventry Building Society

Kirsty has 16 years’ experience leading internal communications functions and teams, and has been at Coventry Building Society since 2013. Her role spans colleague comms, engagement, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing, alongside overseeing people policies and employee voice.

Working for a purpose-led organisation with high employee engagement may suggest there’s not much to do from a colleague experience perspective, but this isn’t true. Continuing to improve, add strategic value and develop with a small budget and within a regulated financial services environment presents interesting challenges!

Kirsty is an IoIC Fellow and Board Director. In addition, she regularly supports the judging of IoIC’s National Awards and is an #IChoseIC Ambassador.

Rob Jones

Co-founder and content director, Artful Dog

Ross is co-founder and content director of communications agency Artful Dog. He has more than 20 years’ experience in internal comms – planning, writing and editing magazines, websites, brochures and other campaign materials. He is the editor of IoIC’s membership magazine, Voice.

Rob will be the MC in the Practical Zone 1.

Misty Oosthuizen

Global Internal Communications Manager, DHL eCommerce

With more than 30 years of experience in this field, Misty is also a passionate supporter of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). She also brings her personal experience with neurodiversity and disability, which further motivates her to create communication that helps everyone feel like they belong.

Joe Salmon FIIC

Director, Corporate Communications, Iron Mountain

With over two decades internal comms experience including in-house, freelance consultant, and agency, Joe specialises in leadership communications, employee engagement, organisational culture, and communicating change. 

Joe's career highlights include senior communication roles at Vodafone, BT, Inmarsat, Spotify, and Hill & Knowlton Strategies. Where he designed and developed compelling employee campaigns to help his global clients to grow from the inside out, by building pride, advocacy, a sense of belonging, and excitement! 

An elected Board Director and Fellow at the Institute of Internal Communications, trailblazer for the UK Black Comms Network, and mentor to others in the IC profession. Joe has a Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Communication Management. Is an event host, panelist, and guest speaker, and featured on the PRovoke Media Innovator 25 list.
