Two IoIC CPD Points

An exclusive, free training session for IoIC members. 

The session will explore inclusivity and accessibility through the lens of disability, looking at accessible communications by design, accessibility issues for written communications, and disability language etiquette.

The session will be interactive and there will also be the opportunity for questions, comments and observations. 

Overall the session will cover: 

  1. What is Inclusivity? What is Accessibility
  2. Accessible communications by design – why does it matter
  3. Key accessibility issues for written comms and video: from the way we use links to visuals and page layout - including Word, PPT, websites, SharePoint sites/VIVA Engage 
  4. Disability language etiquette – how to talk about, and to, our audiences to be disability-inclusive
  5. Q&A.

  • Be more disability-aware and confident in your communications
  • Think about disability inclusion upfront when designing communication strategies, plans and copy.

Who is the training for?

This training is designed for IoIC Members who would like to learn more about accessible communications and disability language etiquette. It is an introduction to the topics and is most suited to those working in IC delivery and planning (levels 1 & 2 of the Profession Map).

The session will provide members with 2 CPD Points. 

This session will take place on Zoom. Once booked your personal meeting link will be located in your membership account area under 'My Events'.
