Executive Presence Workshop

This interactive, motivational training will provide you with the communication skills to be the best version of yourself. We’ll look at how to communicate with gravitas and authority with both senior colleagues and clients.

It will encourage you to be assertive, via the language you use, knowledge you demonstrate and credibility you display. You’ll leave feeling empowered and confident.

Sessions on the course are interactive, lively and include a variety of learning techniques and engaging exercises, using up to date industry knowledge. There will be lots of discussions, frameworks and opportunities to apply and practise new techniques in scenarios during the training.

Attendees will leave the course with a practical action plan, ensuring learning can be applied to their professional lives, immediately.

Who should attend?

The course is most suited to experienced internal communication professionals who would like to grow their personal influence and professional impact. 

The course is aligned to the Influencing and Advising area of the Profession Map and ideal for those working towards, or at Level 3. 

It is also suitable for IC Pros working at Level 4 who lack confidence and would like to develop their self-belief and gravitas.

By the end of the course, delegates will: 

  • Communicate with gravitas, authority and credibility, regardless of role or seniority
  • Influence senior colleagues and clients by operating as a Trusted Advisor
  • Assert yourself confidently in meetings, using clear, persuasive language
  • Structure and present robust, compelling recommendations
  • Navigate challenging situations, objections and pushback with calm and control
  • Leave with greater confidence, self-awareness and ownership of your professional impact.

The course will cover

The course is delivered over two half-days:

Part One (22 April, 9:30 - 12:30) 

Part Two (29 April, 9:30 - 12:30)

The course will cover four core modules over it's two live sessions, with exercises in between to apply learning. 

 Module 1. Communicating with Impact

  • Understand and achieve the status of a Trusted Advisor to be influential in your role
  • Communicate with gravitas and authority, whatever your seniority
  • Command trust and respect, by finding the perfect balance between warmth and competence
  • Make excellent impressions: verbal and non-verbal

 Module 2. Influence & Persuasion

  • Assert yourself without being rude
  • Be a driver in meetings and contribute well
  • Use persuasive, influencer language
  • Know how to use the power of three
  • Make recommendations by structuring an irrefutable business case

Module 3. Challenging Situations

  • Find your voice with more senior colleagues and clients
  • Adapt to situations and different personalities by learning how to dial up or de-emphasise your energy levels
  • Manage unresponsive or disinterested clients and colleagues
  • Prepare for objections and pushback on your recommendations
  • Think on your feet and handle difficult questions

 Module 4. Confidence Building

  • Deal with nerves
  • Develop your self-awareness by appreciating your qualities
  • Prepare mentally, managing imposter syndrome and critical voices
  • Reframe limiting beliefs
  • Appreciate your professional brand strengths.
