IoIC joins other membership bodies in call for closer partnership with Government

IoIC is proud to stand alongside fellow membership bodies in a united call for stronger partnership with Government.

The IoIC is pleased to be one of the professional bodies supporting a joint letter to Government coordinated by Memcom, calling for closer collaboration between Government and membership organisations.

As a co-signatory, the IoIC is proud to be part of a coalition representing more than one million professionals across the UK. The letter urges Government to work more closely with professional bodies to strengthen skills, boost productivity and support effective public service reform.

The IoIC believes this alignment between membership organisations demonstrates the real power of collaboration. By working together, professional bodies can amplify their collective voice, share deep sector expertise and provide practical insight grounded in real-world professional practice. For internal communication professionals, this cross-sector approach reinforces the vital role communication plays in organisational effectiveness and wider society.

The coalition highlights the value professional bodies bring through accredited skills, professional standards and strong connections to employers and the workforce. The IoIC welcomes this collective effort and believes that alignment across membership bodies increases influence and impact for the communities we serve.

Jennifer Sproul, Chief Executive of the Institute of Internal Communication, said:

“We are thrilled to be aligning with other membership bodies on this important work. Coming together in this way strengthens our collective voice and demonstrates the knowledge, skill and influence professional bodies bring. I hope Government recognises the value of working more closely with organisations like ours to gain real insight and deliver more effective outcomes.”

The IoIC strongly supports the call for structured and ongoing engagement with Government, including greater recognition of professional standards and accreditation, and closer collaboration on skills and capability development. As the professional body for internal communication, the Institute remains committed to contributing its expertise to help organisations and the public sector communicate more effectively, particularly during periods of transformation and reform.
